On Sunday, the Penn College community welcomed prospective students and their families and friends to the final Open House of 2024. Sunny, seasonal weather greeted guests, as did a warm welcome from student tour guides and campus employees. Around 550 potential students were in attendance and over 1,600 total guests, according to Bryce W. Winder, coordinator of admissions events and communications, who added, "The weather was amazing, and our guests were even better."

Saturday delivered a stunningly gorgeous autumn day, and the Penn College campus was buzzing with excitement. An Open House, Athletics events and a Fall Fair took advantage of the warm, sunny weather.

And so it begins: the Fall 2024 semester at Pennsylvania College of Technology! It was a wild Wildcat Wednesday as first-year students moved into their residence halls with an eager assist from many happy helpers. After all the unpacking, the coming days are packed with fun and informative activities to ring in the new academic year.

"Despite the heat, it was a wonderful day,” enthused Bryce W. Winder, coordinator of admissions events and communications, describing Saturday’s Open House at Pennsylvania College of Technology. “Our guests were amazing and brought the energy to campus." Winder reports that about 400 students and 1,200 guests were in attendance on the ultra-hot summer day. Their reward for braving the heat was the opportunity to view a lot of “cool stuff."

The summer heat is on and so are Penn College's New Student Orientations. The first of eight sessions was held Tuesday, welcoming incoming Wildcats to campus prior to the start of the Fall 2024 semester. All new Penn College students, including transfer students and adult learners, are required to participate in an Orientation.

Students beginning their classes in Fall 2024 at Pennsylvania College of Technology are offered a special discount for taking a trio of in-person courses this summer. The “Jump-start Your Future” program is giving a 50% discount for students who enroll in developmental math, English and First Year Experience classes during the eight-week Summer 2024 session that runs Mondays through Thursdays, June 11 to Aug. 1, at the college’s main campus.

With the launch of Anthology Student today, we mark another major milestone for Operation Catalyst, our digital transformation project. Most of the core student-supporting functions of the AS400 and SIS are being replaced, with others soon to follow. Over 1,300 visitors strolled around Pennsylvania College of Technology's campus on Sunday, taking in the sights and celebrations of Accepted Student Day. Rolling out a figurative “Wildcat blue carpet welcome,” faculty and staff greeted and guided 477 accepted students and their eager supporters.

Penn College welcomed 537 prospective students and over 1,500 total guests on Sunday for the second Open House of the Spring 2024 semester. Sunny skies certainly boosted spirits and illuminated a gorgeous campus beginning to bloom in spring splendor. In addition to main campus, Penn College’s Schneebeli Earth Science Center and Lumley Aviation Center opened their awe-inspiring doors to future tomorrow makers.

A manufacturer of fiber optic and copper network cabling has endowed a scholarship at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Leviton recently presented the college with a $25,000 gift to establish the scholarship. The donation places the company – a Corporate Tomorrow Maker – in the Ambassadors Society ($25,000-$49,999) on the college’s Donor Wall.
